Xiangfan Attractions

Xiangfan lies along middle reaches of the Hanjiang river, a major tributary of the Changjiang, in the north of the central Chinese province of Hebei.
Xiangfan was already 3000 years old when it was made the capital of a principality during the Western Zhou era (11th C 2770 BC). It was given its present name during the Qin period (221-206 BC). For the 2100 years or so since then it has been the political and economic center of the northwestern part of Hubei province. In 1950 the new Xiangfan emerged as a result of the merging of the towns of Xiangyang and Fancheng. In the last 40 years the various branches of the textile and light industries have developed rapidly.
