Sandy (pop. 90,000) is the sixth-largest city in Utah. It is a suburb of Salt Lake City and is located beneath the Wasatch Mountains. Sandy is 15mi/24km south of Salt Lake City.

Flat Iron Mesa Park is the largest park in Sandy, with 32 acres of soccer fields, baseball fields, volleyball courts, pavilions and tennis courts. The park features three jogging trails.

The Hansen House in Sandy is a Victorian building that was built in 1887. It operates as a bed and breakfast, and is listed on the National Historic Register.
The Sandy Museum has been open since 1987 and features artifacts from the town's history. It has moved to a new location across from the Sandy City Hall at a historic site on the old Oregon Trail.
The Living Planet Aquarium is a 43,000 square-foot educational facility three main exhibits: Discover Utah, Ocean Explorer, and Journey to South America. There are over 1250 animals and 267 species on display. Visitors can view some of Utah's threatened and endangered species, saltwater species from all over the world, and freshwater species found in the South American Rainforest.
