Ras al-Khaimah Attractions

Ras al-Khaimah is the northernmost emirate and a popular destination for residents of Dubai. The spectacular scenery is probably the biggest attraction of Ras al-Khaimah. The coastal plains and steep mountains provide run-off water making Ras al-Khaimah the most fertile emirate in the United Arab Emirates. The traditional occupations of this emirate are mainly fishing, trading and agriculture which have been modernized to meet the demand of the United Arab Emirates.

Ras al-Khaimah supplies fruit, vegetables, milk and poultry to the other emirates.

Archeological excavations have revealed that Ras al-Khaimah has been inhabited since the third millennium BC. Evidence has shown an advanced civilization that carried on trade. Pottery, beads, net sinkers and flint tools have been uncovered proving the presence of a nomadic people who lived on the coast during the summer months.
