History can be discovered in the mountains and small towns that are found throughout this region. The scenery has been enjoyed since the Iroquois. Skiers and snowboarders visit the Poconos'seven major ski areas.
Andreas - Jem Classic Car Museum, Pennsylvania
Over 40 automobiles are on display including names like Auburn, Buick, Cadillac, Cord, DeSoto, Ford, Franklin, Graham-Paige, Hudson, Locomobile, Marmon, Packard, Peerless, Studebaker, Stutz, and Wills Sainte Claire. Motorcycles and thirty large scale airplane models are also on display.
Ashland, Pennsylvania
Ashland was established in 1847 and is an old mining community.
Ashland - Museum of Anthracite Mining
Tools, machinery, models, photographs and graphic displays explain mining and more details on anthracite. The day-to-day work of the miner working underground is the focus of the museum.
Ashland - Pioneer Tunnel Coal Mine and Steam Train Ride
Pioneer Tunnel is a horizontal drift mine that runs 1800 feet straight into the side of the Mahanoy Mountain. The Tunnel offers visitors an opportunity to learn how anthracite coal is mined. Visitors can ride into the Tunnel on mining cars that were rebuilt to carry passengers.

Bushkill, Pennsylvania
Bushkill is a popular area of the Poconos for white water rafting, canoeing, and camping. Public trout fly fishing can be found along six miles of the Big Bushkill Creek.
Bushkill - Pocono Indian Museum
The Pocono Indian Museum is dedicated to the history of the Delaware Indians through displays of ancient artifacts. An Indian bark house and pottery dating back over 1,000 years ago is on display.
Bushkill Falls
Bushkill Falls consists of a series of eight waterfalls within the Pocono Mountains. Hiking trails and bridges offer views of the falls and the surrounding forest.

Honesdale - Wayne County Historical Society Museum
The history of the Delaware Hudson Canal 1828-1898 exhibit at Wayne County Historical Society features the Stourbridge Lion, the first locomotive to turn wheel on commercial track. Faces in Clay is Vernon Leslie's 4,600 piece archeology collection that interprets the Native American history of the upper Delaware River Valley.

Milford - Upper Mill, Pennsylvania
This restored gristmill was built in the early 1800s. It is powered by a three-story water wheel. In 1881, the mill was destroyed by fire and was rebuilt in 1882.

White Mills - Dorflinger-Suydam Wildlife Sanctuary
Dorflinger-Suydam Wildlife Sanctuary began as a farm in 1851 and then became a respite for the Dorflinger family. The sanctuary provides nature trails to allow for observance of wildlife and waterfowls within the 600 acres.
