Oostduinkerke, 3km/2mi east of Koksijde, is a fishing town and seaside resort.
The town has become popular for visitors to roam the nature reserves, sandy beach or promenade. The beach stretches for over 30 km. A major tourist attraction are the shrimpers on horseback!
A tropical paradise, SunAquaPark and SunTerraPark provide a wide variety of water sports, including hydrotubes, wave baths and whirlpools, along with numerous sports facilities and gift shops.
The National Visserijmuseum (National Fishery Museum) is dedicated to the history and technology of fishing and has a collection of model fishing boats, instruments and tools. There are even reconstructions of a fishermen's tavern and cottage.
