Ontario (pop. 11,000) lies on Oregon's eastern edge and is an important agricultural area. The geological formations and rocks in the area also make it a popular spot for climbers. Petrified wood, agate, obsidian, jasper and sunstone are all found in the surrounding areas.
The Four Rivers Cultural Center and Museum in Ontario is a tribute to the ethnic diversity of the region and its history. The Western Treasure Valley where Oregon meets Idaho is where the Snake, the Malheur, the Owyhee and the Payette Rivers converge. The center features a theater, gardens and museum.
