Antwerp is pleasant small town in Paulding County. This area was once the site of Lake Maumee which eventually became the Maumee Valley. The town was settled in the mid 19th Century and named after Antwerp, Belgium.
The town of Bryan has a number of historical sites and attractions, along with a modern shopping district and restaurants. One of Byran's main icons is the 1888 Williams County Courthouse that is plastered on brochures and postcards. The courthouse was renovated in the late 1970s and is a beautiful piece of architecture.
Byran prides itself on its small town atmosphere and on the fact that the town was listed as one of "the 100 best small towns in America" by Norman Crampton's book of the same name.

The Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey continues a tradition that dates back to the 2nd Century in Luxembourg. This shrine was built in 1875 and has long been considered a place of healing and miracles attracting pilgrims from all over. Conventual Franciscan Friars of the Province of our Lady of Consolation attend the Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation here in Carey as they have since 1911.

Defiance lies on the Maumee River, about an hours drive southwest of Toledo. The city was once the site of Fort Defiance and there are a number of markers around the city on this subject. Check with the local Chamber of Commerce to find out what events are up coming in the community.
The Schedel Foundation Arboretum and Gardens in Elmore cover over 17 acres that come to life each spring with a lavish display of color. The gardens consist of a wide variety of annuals and perennials. The grounds include lowlands and highlands, allowing for a diverse range of plants. Also on site at the Schedel Foundation Arboretum and Gardens are sculptures, picnic areas, and great locations for wedding photos and special events.

Fort Recovery State Memorial was the site of two significant battles. In 1791 General Arthur St. Clair's forces were greatly defeated by the Miami Indians, resulting in huge casualties. In 1793 Fort Recovery was built on this site and the following year an Indian force was defeated here under the direction of General Wayne.
Fort Recovery State Memorial features recreated blockhouses as would have stood at the original Fort Recovery. There is also an on site museum with information on the history of the area.
The Glass Heritage Gallery in Fostoria chronicles the history of this glass-making town. During the period of 1887-1920 there were 13 glass plants operating in Fostoria. The Glass Heritage Gallery is devoted to preserving that history. A large display room showcases the work of the artisans working in the factories at that time.
Lakeside is a resort town, very popular during the summer months. People come here to relax at a cottage and enjoy the lake. There are all kinds of accommodation available, including cottage rentals. Lakeside also has all types of entertainment with theatre, music and arts events held throughout the summer.

The Shrine of Holy Relics is located in Maria Stein. The collection was started in 1892, and has now grown to over 1000 items, second only to St Anthony's Chapel in Pittsburgh. The Shrine of Holy Relics makes for a pleasant day trip out of the major cities, as it is located in Ohio's "The Land of Cross-Tipped Churches".
The historic McCutchen Overland Inn, a former stage coach stop, is today a museum. The inn was built by Col. Joseph McCutchen in 1829 and has seen several famous people pass through it's doors including, Charles Dickens.
The Henry County Courthouse in Napoleon was built in 1880. This courthouse followed two previous courthouses on this location, which were destroyed by fire.
This impressive building is the pride of Napoleon and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In 1998 the Henry County Courthouse was completely renovated. The building is hard to miss with its massive tower.
The Magee Marsh Wildlife Area near Oak Harbor adjoins Crane Creek State Park and lies next to the Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge. The marsh is a wetland area that covers 2,600 acres and offers wildlife viewing and nature study areas. Magee Marsh Wildlife Area lies on the shores of Lake Erie with walking trails and bird watching areas. Visitors to Crane Creek State Park should be sure to stop by the marsh.
The Daniel Mooney Museum is housed in the former home of Major Charles Hipp and later Daniel and Carrie Mooney. The home was built in the late 19th Century and is the current residence of the Auglaize County Historical Society. Displays relate to the history of St Mary's and surrounding area.
