Alamo - Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge
The Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge is home to a variety of wildlife, including rare birds. There is an interpretive wildlife tram which runs through the refuge as well as walking trails. A road through the area is also open to the public on days when the tram is not operating.

Edinburg - Hidalgo County Historical Museum
Housed in the 1910 former county jail, the museum offers displays on the history of the area. The museum traces the history from the Early American Indians, through the Spanish exploration and colonization, as well as the Mexican War, Civil War, and modern growth of the region.

Hidalgo - Pumphouse Heritage and Discover Center
This restored 1909 pumphouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Landmarks. It houses the only steam pumps still existing in the United States.

Mission - La Lomita Chapel
The original adobe chapel was constructed in 1865. In 1889 La Lomita Mission Chapel was rebuilt in sandstone where it still stands and is used on various occasions.
