Sights
Lambach's older buildings lie at the foot of the Terrassensporn, on which the abbey stands. They include the Rathaus, the old High Courthouse and abbey tavern. Also of note are the obelisk with the two-headed eagle and the Mariahilfkirche (1717; heptagonal ground plan). It is a 10-minute walk from the Benedictine abbey to the church (1720) on the Kalvarienberg (fine views). The frescos, most of which were damaged in an air raid in 1945, were reconstructed by Fritz Frölich in 1952.
