The town of Klamath Falls (pop. 19,500) is located on the south shore of Upper Klamath Lake in south central Oregon. The town is an excellent base to explore the surrounding region. Within a two hour drive are Crater Lake, Mount Shasta, and Lava Beds National Park. The area is also home to a large number of wintering bald eagles.
The Baldwin Hotel Museum in Klamath Falls is located in a four-story building at 31 Main Street. Original furnishings from this hotel are still preserved within the museum.
The Collier Memorial State Park features an open-air museum with historic logging equipment, a pioneer log cabin village, camping facilities, and various hiking and horse trails. The logging museum has rare and antique logging equipment from as early as the 1880's.

The Favell Museum of Western Art and Indian Artifacts in Klamath Falls features a wide range of art and artifacts, including more than 60,000 mounted arrowheads. Displays also include native art, coins, rocks, miniature firearms and art work by western artists.

The Klamath County Museum features displays related to the anthropology, history, geology and wildlife of the area. There is also an emphasis on the history of the Modoc Indians.

The Lower Klamath Refuge provides habitats for a variety of waterfowl on 46,900 acres on the southern border of Oregon and the northern border of California. The Refuge has blinds for wildlife photography along a car trail which is ideal for wildlife viewing.
