Kissimmee Tourist Attractions

19 miles/30km south of Orlando is Kissimmee (pop. 30,000), which in recent decades has grown from a quiet little farming town into a popular holiday resort. Its principal tourist attractions are strung along the Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway.
Kissimmee is only four miles away from Walt Disney World Resort and offers affordable accommodation.

Kissimmee Air Museum

The Kissimmee Air Museum and Warbird Adventures is devoted to the preservation and restoration of antique and WWII warplanes. Vintage "warbirds" in various stages of completion on display to the public. There are also exhibits on aviation history with equipment and weaponry displays. Visitors can experience aviation first hand by interacting with the planes, pilots and projects; or taking a front row seat to an aviation adventure at the Kissimmee airport. Guests can also experience authentic WWII fighter-trainer from the front cockpit.

Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament

Medieval Times in Kissimmee is set out in a replica 11th century European-style castle. Knights on horseback compete in battles, jousting tournaments and equestrian precision drills. A four course dinner is served by staff in medieval attire.

Medieval Life Village

Medieval Life is a recreated 8 cottage village that features costumed tradesman and artisans as they ply their trades using materials and tools from the 11th century. A bird of prey exhibit, dungeon and torture chamber are also offered.

Boggy Creek Airboat Rides

Boggy Creek Airboat Rides provide 30 minute guided tours through territory that remains unaltered by man in the wilderness of the Central Florida Everglades. Opportunity to see eagles, osprey, snakes, turtles and alligators amongst a swampy environment of cypress trees and saw grass.

Green Meadows Petting Farm

Green Meadows Petting Farm contains more than 300 animals, some of which can be petted in special pens. Opportunities to learn about farm life such as milking the cows and collecting eggs are highlights for visitors. There are tractor-drawn hayrides and a miniature train track around the property.

Splendid China (closed)

This park is a miniature version of the large Asian country. There are reproductions of some of the biggest landmarks in China including the Great Wall, Imperial Palace/Forbidden City and numerous others. Visitors will also find live entertainment, cultural and historical exhibits and films.

Arabian Nights

Arabian Nights features 60 horses from around the world in an indoor arena. This show revolves around the wedding of the Prince and Princess, and guests can share in this romantic tale. A three-course dinner is served during the show.

Capone's Dinner and Show

Travel back in time with this musical dinner theatre show based on 1930's gangster Al Capone. Colorful characters such as Miss Jewel, Detective Marvel, Harry the Lip and Bunny-June are present in this musical comedy.

Jungleland (closed)

Jungleland is a private zoological park containing a large number of exotic mammals and birds including tigers, bears, monkeys, alligators and lions.

Osceola County Historical Society & Pioneer Center Museum

Osceola County Historical Society features an 1898 "Cracker House," a 1900 general store, a pole-barn, blacksmith shop and sugar cane mill. The museum of pioneer artifacts portrays the history of Osceola County of Florida.

Water Mania (closed)

ATTRACTION IS CLOSED.
A 36-acre water park featuring water slides, a wave pool, a surfing simulator, bumper boats, a water playground for children and inner tube river rides.

World of Orchids

World of Orchids is an enclosed conservatory featuring thousands of exotic varieties of orchids and other tropical plants. Outside, there are other rainforest plants including palms, ferns and bamboo.
