Keene (pop. 23,000) is located in Cheshire County in central New Hampshire. The town and the surrounding area are home to a number of old historic structures, including four covered bridges and the 1762 Wyman Tavern.
The Horatio Colony House in Keene was built in 1806 by Abel Blake, and later owned by Horatio Colony - descendent of one of Keene's prominent families. This old-time New England home is decorated with artifacts collected on his travels, including antique oriental rugs European paintings, Japanese prints, family portraits, tall clocks, and books.
The grounds consist of a 615 acre nature preserve with 5 miles of nature trails.
