Located on the Gulf of Mexico, Gulfport (pop. 71,000) is a seaport servicing the lumber and cotton industries. It is also a popular resort area with golf courses and beaches.

Fun Time USA (CLOSED)

ATTRACTION WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED DURING HURRICANE KATRINA. Fun Time USA in Gulfport is an amusement park that features a variety of rides for all ages including mini-golf, go-carts, and games.

Marine Life Oceanarium (CLOSED)

ATTRACTION WAS DESTROYED DURING HURRICANE KATRINA. The Marine Life Oceanarium in Gulfport presents dolphin and sea lion shows, aquariums, a petting pool, as well as bird shows and displays.

Lynn Meadows Discovery Center

The Lynn Meadows Discovery Center in Gulfport is a large children's museum with interactive displays and play activities.

Bay Saint Louis

Bay Saint Louis (pop. 8,200) in Hancock County has an Old Town section with art and antique shops, cafés and restaurants. Many of the buildings in this area have been restored.

Hancock County Historical Society

Housed in the Kate Lobrano house, the Hancock County Historical Society displays a collection of early photographs of the Bay Saint Louis area, Indian artifacts, and other antique items.

Bay St Louis - Stennis Space Center

The Stennis Space Center researches space, oceanographic and environmental studies. The visitor center offers a motion simulator, exhibits and a tour of the shuttle complex.

Crosby Arboretum, Picayune

Nature trails lead through the 64 acre grounds of the Crosby Arboretum south of Picayune. The area features more than 300 species of native plants. The pavilion was designed by Fay Jones, a student of Frank Lloyd Wright.
