African-American Museum
The African-American Museum in Fresno was founded by Jack A Kelly who was the first African American in the Fresno Police Department.

The museum shows the history of African Americans in the San Joaquim Valley through a photographic display.

Duncan Water Gardens
Duncan Water Gardens is three acres with a waterfall, a pond, and a lake full of koi. The 53 cherry trees bloom in mid-March.

Fresno Metropolitan Museum of Art and Science (closed)
Cultural development has not been able to keep pace with the population explosion. In Fresno you will find only one philharmonic orchestra, an opera company which performs only occasionally, several theater groups and the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Science (1555 Van Ness), better described as an extended museum of local history.

Kearney Mansion Museum and Park
The Kearney Mansion Museum and Park in Fresno consists of two buildings designed in the Renaissance style. The interiors of both structures have typical Victorian details. In the main residence, wall finishes were imported from France.

The mansion is operated as a museum by the Fresno City and County Historic Society with over half of the original furnishings and is located in Kearney Park, a 225 acre park which has been described as one of the most beautiful on the west coast.
