The Fitchburg Art Museum was founded in 1925 through a bequest of artist and educator, Eleanor Norcross. There are 14 galleries featuring American and European paintings, prints, drawings, ceramics and decorative arts. The Egyptian, Greek, Roman, Asian and pre-Columbian antiquities include bronze statues, marble portraits and paintings of Egyptian tombs.
The Annual Fitchburg Autumn Festival features the Annual Forge-In Blacksmith Competition, the Riverfront Antiques Show & Sale, and The Great Pumpkin Carve.
The Forge-In is an event where artisans in the metalworking industry demonstrate their skills in a "heated" competition throughout the day.
The Great Pumpkin Carve is an after dark event where all entered pumpkins are lit and displayed along the Nashua River wall for judging.
