Espírito Santo State
The state of Espírito Santo lies half way down the Atlantic coast of Brazil, bordered on the north by Bahia, on the west by Minas Gerais and on the south by the state of Rio de Janeiro. In the fertile coastal region sugar-cane, tropical fruits, coffee, cacao and cotton are grown; and cattle-rearing also makes a contribution to the economy. The state capital, Vitória, is also an important port for the shipment of metal ores.
