Powerscourt Gardens
The Powerscourt Gardens are some of the best in the country. Statues grace the sloping landscape, which also includes Italian and Japanese gardens. The Tinnehinch Bridge is a highlight.
Glencree River
2mi/3km north of Powerscourt Waterfall, south of Enniskerry, the Glencree River joins the Dargle, flowing down from Glendoo Mountain through a beautiful valley. An attractive road ascends the valley to St Kevin's, one of a series of barracks built by the British authorities along the Military Road after the 1798 Rising. Nearby is a German military cemetery.
The Scalp
2mi/3km north of Enniskerry the Dublin road goes through the Scalp, a rocky gorge littered with granite boulders which was hewn through the hills by glaciers in the last Glacial period.
