Coloane Island Attractions

Coloane lies to the south of the Macau peninsula, beyond the island of Taipa. It is reached from the mainland on the Macau-Taipa bridge and from Taipa via the 2.2km/1.5mi long dual-carriageway Causeway, built in 1969. Almost twice the size of Taipa, Coloane is an island of pine forests, eucalyptus groves, tropical vegetation and farming land.

Outside the entrance to the Pousada Miramar is the Tam Chin Temple, noted for a whalebone model of a ship with a wooden dragon's head.

Coloane is famed for its beautiful beaches of fine white sand.
