The small town of Bridgeport proclaims itself to be the "Gateway to the Columbia River". Bridgeport and the surrounding area are very scenic, with not only the river, but orchards and farmer's fields.
The Chief Joseph Dam is the second biggest dam in the United States, second only to Grand Coulee Dam. The dam was completed in 1955 and fully operational by 1958. This one dam provides enough power to operate the city of Seattle.

The city of Okanogan is located in north central Washington, along the Okanogan River. The town has some interesting old buildings and visitors can learn more about Okanogan at the Okanogan County Historical Museum.
The Okanogan County Historical Museum will bring visitors up to date on all the happenings of the Okanogan County since its beginnings. The museum has both indoor and outdoor displays, including a replica of an old time town.
Stonerose is a fossil site revealing plants, insects and fish impressions, some of which date back some 50 million years. The Stonerose Interpretive Center explains and discusses the history of the site, and then visitors can walk back to the actual fossil site for a close up look.
