The "wheat town" of Brandon has the Assiniboine River gently winding its way through the city and is responsible for carving the beautiful Assiniboine Valley. Brandon, the second largest city in Manitoba, is a prairie city with a very diverse culture.
Brandon is pleasant place to visit, particularly in the summer, having won numerous awards in the Communities in Bloom competition. Brand is also home to the Art Gallery of South-western Manitoba and the Shilo military base is a short drive away. The city hosts several festivals throughout the year including Ag Days, the Brandon Jazz Festival, and the Manitoba Summer Fair.
