Block Island Attractions
This island 10 mi. offshore has been virtually abandoned to nature. There are ferries from Newport or from Galilee/Point Judith on the south coast. You can cycle, climb down the Mohegan Bluffs to the Atlantic or stop at the Old Harbor.
Miles of trails allow for biking and hiking. Bird watching is popular, with more than 150 species stopping here in the fall.

North Light
The North Light is an 1867 lighthouse built on Sandy Point at the north end of Block Island. It marks the entrance to Block Island Sound and Long Island Sound. The lighthouse has a granite building and an iron tower.
