Bullhead City was originally a construction camp erected during the building of Davis Dam. The rock formation that gave the town its name has since disappeared under the waters of Lake Mohave.

The Colorado River Nature Center occupies 500 acres along the Colorado River south of Bullhead City. This conservation area allows public access to an undeveloped beach.
Tips: Vehicles are not allowed on the beach.
