Tourist Attractions in Anklam

The old Hanseatic town and port of Anklam lies on the south bank of the river Peene near the point where it flows into the Peenestrom, which runs north into the Baltic.

Anklam was the birthplace of Otto Lilienthal (1848-96), one of the pioneers of flying, who after observing the flight of birds built what would now be called a hang-glider.
