Alberton Attractions
Early this century Alberton was a center for silver fox farming for the fur trade, which had started up here in 1894 and flourished for four decades until it was badly hit by the depression of the 1930s. The tree-lined streets and fine big houses are a reminder of these prosperous times.
Nowadays Alberton is one of the home ports for Canada's deep-sea fisheries, and it is possible to make long-shore fishing trips from here.
