Bomarsund
11km/7mi east of Kastelholm is the fort of Bomarsund, built by the Russians about 1830 and destroyed by British and French forces in 1854, during the Crimean War.
Bomarsund Museum
The Bomarsund museum displays the Bomarsund history and archeological finds at Bomarsund. It is housed in the Pilot cottage.

Brändö - Archipelago Museum
The Archipelago museum is located in Lappo, Brändö and displays old-time boats, fishing gear and photos. There are ten rustic wooden boats and a photo exhibit that highlights old time life in the village.

Finström Geta
20km/12.5mi north of Mariehamn (road on left beyond Jomala) is Finström, with a church containing medieval wall paintings (signs of the Zodiac). 21km/13mi farther north is Geta, the most northerly parish on the island; fine view from Sottuna Hill.
Föglö Museum
The Föglö Museumis located next to the ferry harbour in Degerby, Föglö. The museum hosts some special exhibitions.

Geta - Dånö Homestead Museum
The Dano homestead museum displays articles from beginning of the 19th century such as household items and hand tools. The house has been inhabited by two generations of pilots with inventories from the pilot crofter's holding on display.
Jomala - Önningeby Museum
The Önningeby Museum is housed in a stone barn from 1869 and presents information about the Önningeby artist colony which was formed around Victor Westerholm from 1886 to 1914.
Kumlinge - Hermas Farm Museum
This old farmstead features a farmhouse, cowhouse, smoke sauna and windmill. The exhibition covers the life in Enklinge in bygone times.

Kökar
Reached by ferry from Korpo (74km/46mi southwest of Turku) or Långnäs (28km/17mi east of Mariehamn) is the sailing enthusiasts' paradise of Kökar (pop. 300; Sandvik and Hellsö boating harbors), far out in the skerries. It has a fine church of gray stone, built on the ruins of a Franciscan friary. Hotel, restaurant, camping site.

Lemland
On an island 15km/9mi southeast of Mariehamn is the village of Lemland. Near the ruins of the Lemböte Chapel can be seen a Viking cemetery, one of the largest on Åland. Skerry garden.
Lemland - Pellas Shipmaster's Home
Pellas Shipmaster's Home was built in 1884 by a shipmaster and ship owner named Erik Petter Eriksson. It is a museum at present and hosts small exhibitions of art occasionally.
Orrdalsklint
Northeast of Saltvik is the Orrdalsklint (132m/433ft), the highest point on the island of Åland. Another good viewpoint is the Kasberg (116m/381ft), to the north of Saltvik.
Ramsholmen
3km/2mi west of Mariehamn lies the beautiful Ramsholmen nature reserve, with a landscape of meadows and woodland very typical of the islands.
Saltvik
23km/14mi north of Mariehamn (via Jomala, then road on left before Kastelholm) we come to Saltvik, with a church which is one of the oldest on the island. It has a font of Gotland limestone, a triumphal cross and a 15th century reredos. There are a number of prehistoric sites in the area.
Vårdö - Åland School Museum
Constructed in 1888 by teacher Viktor Jansson, the building served as his home and the school until his death in 1895. The rooms presented the history of educational system in Åland.
