Abu Dhabi is a modern city, the capital of the United Arab Emirates and the center of government and business life in the UAE. Abu Dhabi is the largest of the seven Emirates and the most populated. Headquarters of the emirates oil companies and embassies are based in Abu Dhabi. The oil wealth in Abu Dhabi encourages a healthy trade and commerce atmosphere for many industries outside of the oil industry.
Abu Dhabi offers year-round sunshine, many of the local residents leave the city for cooler climates in July and August so the best time to visit is Spring or Fall. Large gardens, parks and green boulevards are found among the mirrored buildings and cosmopolitan high-rises.
Several of the highlights when visiting Abu Dhabi are the Al Hosn Palace or Old Fort and the Cultural Foundation consisting of the National Archives, the National Library and the Institute of Culture and Art.

Abu Dhabi - Liwa Oasis, United Arab Emirates
Liwa Oasis is a settlement in southern Abu Dhabi. It is noted for date farming and one of the largest dunes in the world. Each year is it the site of the Liwa festival featuring camel and offroad racing.
