Tauplitzalm

Near Bad Mitterndorf in Thörl-Zauchen a road branches off and runs northward to the Tauplitzalm (1,650m/5,414ft), in the heart of an extensive area of good walking and skiing country. The Tauplitzalm has been developed into a modern skiing complex with numerous hotels and tourist facilities. It can be reached direct from Tauplitz by chairlift. Half an hour's walk east of the upper station of the chairlift lies the picturesque Steyrer See (1,457m/4,780ft); to the west a chairlift ascends the Lawinenstein (1,961m/6,434ft), from where there are extensive views.
