Toronto - Harbourfront

Bounty is a craft shop owned and operated by Harbourfront Centre specializing in contemporary craft items such as bowls, ceramics and jewelry.

Harbourfront Centre is host to a wide variety of activities including, theatre, concerts, art exhibits, festivals and more. Approximately 3 million people visit Harbourfront Centre annually participating in it's variety of events.

The Powerplant in Toronto is an exhibiting gallery devoted to showcasing contemporary art. The gallery shows many local artist's works as well as work of those from abroad. Works exhibited include sculptures, installations, and paintings.

Toronto's old waterfront, which used to be dominated by storage sheds and wholesale warehouses, is now transformed into the 38ha (94ac) multipurpose Harbourfront Park. This incorporates everything from hotels to luxury apartments, offices, art galleries, a range of boutiques, shops, restaurants and cafés, theatres, a French cultural center, a yacht marina (with a sailing school) and the railway museum.

Queen's Quay Yachting on the Toronto Harbour offers boats for charter cruises and rentals, as well as courses in sailing and boating.

The Museum of Inuit Art opened in 2007 and contains an extensive collection of Inuit art and artifacts. The museum has rotating exhibits as well as permanent displays. A large portion of the museum is devoted to inuit sculptures, and to a lesser extent pottery, prints, and textiles.

The Queen's Quay Terminal in Toronto houses a large number of shops and restaurants. Many of the shops specialize in certain areas.

The Redpath Sugar Museum in Toronto provides visitors with information on sugar, including history and production, transportation and packaging, and a history of the Redpath family. Redpath is Canada's oldest sugar refining company.

The Pier: Toronto's Waterfront Museum showcases the history of Toronto Harbour. The museum is located in a 1930s warehouse and today features two stories of exhibits.

The Toronto Port Authority is the replacement for the Toronto Harbour Commissioners. The Toronto Port Authority provides a variety of services to businesses.

The Waterfront Trail stretches 350 km from Stoney Creek to Quinte West along Lake Ontario. The segment through Toronto passes right through the Harbourfront. The trail includes sections of boardwalk and natural areas for easy walking.
