Gregory National Park Description
1,333,600ha.

Gregory National Park is an expanse of highland country with striking gorges, in a zone of transition between tropical and semi-arid regions. There are many remains of Aboriginal culture. The best approach to the park is from the Victoria Highway at Timber Creek and Victoria River Crossing. The unsurfaced road to Top Springs, 30km east of Timber Creek, leads to Jasper Gorge and is negotiable by ordinary cars; all the other tracks in the park are for all-terrain vehicles only. During the wet season all roads and tracks may be flooded. There are organized boat trips on the Victoria River from Victoria River Crossing and Timber Creek.
