Todi - Piazza del Popolo (Cathedral)

In the center of Todi is the Piazza del Popolo surrounded by medieval palaces. On the north side of the square, approached by a flight of steps, stands the Late Romanesque cathedral (12th-16th century), with beautiful choir-stalls of 1530. On the south side of the square is the Palazzo dei Priori or Palazzo del Podestà (13th-14th century), with an eagle (1339), the arms of Todi, on its façade. On the east side of the square are the 13th century Palazzo del Popolo and Palazzo del Capitano, linked by a later flight of steps. Both palaces have picture collections, etc. Between the Piazza del Popolo and the Tempio di San Fortunato there are picturesque old streets to be explored.
