The Pebble Hill Plantation in Thomasville began in 1827 when the original house was built. In 1850 the original structure was replaced with a new house which was mostly destroyed in a 1934 fire. The east wing of the house was saved, along with many of the furnishings, and incorporated into the new mansion which still stands.
