Description
Outstanding is the Church of Saints-Hermès-et-Alexandre which stands on the site of a Merovingian and Carolingian church. In its present form it goes back to the year 1091 and with its three aisles of equal height it is the only Romanaesque hall church between and Loire and the Rhine. The roof of the central aisle was provided in the 17th C. with 110 coffers with biblical scenes and personalities. The wooden figure of the Virgin of Theux on the left of the choir was created in the 15th C.
