Singburi Attractions
Singburi
Singburi, on the right bank of the Menam Chao Phraya, 120 km (74 mi.) north of Bangkok in the middle of the central plain of Thailand with its endless rice fields, is the junction of several important roads. The town itself has no interesting sights.
By car: from Ayutthaya highways 309/32 (75 km (47 mi.)). From Lopburi Highway 311 (25 km (16 mi.)).
By bus: several times daily from Bangkok, Ayutthaya and Lopburi.

Wat Phar Mou Chak Si
5 km (3 mi.) south-west of Singburi (2 km (1 mi.)) on Highway 309, then right along Highway 3032 is the Wat Phra Nou Chak Si with a 40-m (131- ft) long statue of a recumbent Buddha, probably the largest in Thailand. Unfortunately the various attempts at restoration have damaged its artistic quality.
Ayutthaya Prang
On a hill close to Wat Phra Mou Chak Si stands an ornately decorated prang in Ayutthaya style, the only remains of the Wat Phra That, the other buildings of which lie in ruins. Buddha statues occupy the three niches of the prang with another beautiful Buddha figure in the interior.
