Marfa Attractions
This little spot is situated in such a remote corner of the far south-west of Texas (on the U.S. 67/90), that scarcely anyone is likely to stray here unless bound for El Paso. Those who do, though, will meet with a surprise; because on a large former military area nearby, Donald Judd (d. 1994), the best known exponent of Minimal Art, realised his concept of the "ideal museum". Incidentally, part of the film "Giant" starring James Dean, Elizabeth Taylor and Rock Hudson were shot in Marfa.
Presidio County Museum
Housed in the 1883 Humphries House, the museum features a slide show and artifacts related to the history of the county.
