Rockport-Fulton, Texas

The small towns of Fulton and Rockport, located north of Corpus Christi, are often referred to as one town. They are actually two separate municipalities but share a similar heritage.
The towns are situated on the Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail.

Fulton Mansion State Historic Park

The three story, Victorian style, Fulton Mansion was built between 1874 and 1877 by Colonel George Ware Fulton and his wife Harriet Gillette Smith.

Rockport - Center for the Arts

Housed in a 19th century mansion the Rockport Center for the Arts hosts a variety of visual and performing arts productions.

Alice (pop. 21,000) is located west of Corpus Christi. The town is centrally located between San Antonio, Corpus Christi and the Lower Rio Grande valley and is commonly known as the "Hub City of South Texas".

South Texas Museum

The South Texas Museum traces the history of the south Texas region from the American Indian to the 20th century. The collection is varied and features some unique items, including a typewriter with two sets of keys (one for lower case and one for upper case).
The museum is housed in the unique McGill Brothers Building. After visiting the Alamo in 1940, the brothers returned to Alice, and built an office building in the same design.

Third Coast Squadron Museum

The 3rd Coast Squadron Museum in Alice, Texas is the ideal destination for South Texas military heritage only. Visitos can view artifacts, and memorabilia, as well as hear and see stories from South Texas veterans that have served or are currently serving in our military. Vintage war birds are on display in the adjoining hangar to the museum and are available for viewing also.

Heritage Museum, Falfurrias, Texas

Falfurrias developed in 1883. The large number of dairy farms in the area led to the creation of Falfurrias Creamery, which was built by the town's founder.
The Heritage Museum displays items related to the history of the area.

George West, Texas

George West (pop. 2,600) is named after George Washington West, the town's founder. The town is primarily a shipping center for the surrounding agricultural area. Fishing and hunting are popular sports in the area.

Grace Armantrout Museum

The museum is named after Grace Armantrout who donated many of the items displayed at the museum. Exhibits include household items, farm equipment, firearms, and art.

Kingsville, Texas

South-west of Corpus Christi is Kingsville, where visitors can see the ranch established in 1853 by Richard King, one of the cattle barons.

King Ranch Museum

The museum is housed in a restored ice plant and features photos by photographer Toni Frissell. Antique cars, coaches, saddles and other ranch equipment are also on display.

King Ranch

The ranch, established in 1853 by Capt. Richard King, is a National Historic Landmark. It covers 825,000 acres today and is open to the public for tours.
