Bastrop (pop. 6,500) is a scenic little town on the Colorado River. It has more than 125 buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places, many of which line Main Street.

Bastrop County Museum
The Bastrop Museum, housed in an 1850's historic home, contains pioneer artifacts, documents, furnishings, and other miscellaneous items. A brief video describes the history of Bastrop.
