Sevierville (pop. 12,000) was founded in Cherokee territory in 1785. The town was named for John Sevier, who became Tennessee's first governor. It is the singer Dolly Parton's birthplace.
Floyd Garrett's Muscle Car Museum is home to over 90 muscle cars from the 1950s, 60s and 70s. Floyd began his collection of vehicles in 1975 with the purchase of a black 1970 Chevelle. Some of the cars currently on display include a 1969 Camaro, 1967 Firebird, 1970 Chevelle, 1970 Nova and 1971 Cuda Convertible.

Visitors to the Smoky Mountain Deer Farm and Exotic Petting Zoo can see and pet zebra, donkeys, camels, reindeer, Kangaroos, wallabies, prairie dogs, miniature goats, exotic cattle, miniature horses and donkeys, emu, and other exotic animals.

The Smoky Mountain Knife Works in Sevierville features collections of cutlery memorabilia and trophy wildlife, as well as historical collections of Native American relics, Civil War displays, and Americana.

The Wilson's North American Wildlife Museum in Sevierville features more than 180 well-preserved animals in natural poses and habitats. The entire museum simulates the tunnels of a cave.
