Tamsweg - Pilgrimage Church of St Leonard

On a hill outside Tamsweg, enclosed within defensive walls, stands the pilgrimage church of St Leonard (1424-33), one of Austria's finest pilgrimage churches. Noteworthy are the valuable stained glass (1430-50), especially the Goldfenster ("Gold Window", painted mainly in blue and gold), the Gothic panel paintings on the altar (c. 1460) and the old frescos depicting bishops, the Apostles, etc.
