Tampico - Huastec Museum

(Local Name: Museo de la Cultura Huasteca) About 7km/4.3mi north of the Plaza, in the satellite town of Ciudad Madero, is the Huastec museum (Museo de la Cultura Huasteca), which is housed in the Instituto Tecnológico. Its principal contents include stone sculptures, terracotta figurines, clay dishes, articles of jewellery made out of gold, silver, copper, shells and semi-precious stones, ritual objects made of stone, as well as weapons and costumes belonging to this fascinating people.
