Tampere Finlandia March (10, 20 and 40km) is in September.

The Tampere International Choir Festival is held annually in June.

Tampere Festival of Drama is in August.
Tampere is known as the theater capital of Finland and the highlight of its year is the annual festival, held for six days in August.

Productions during the festival are not confined to theaters, but are held everywhere, from the streets to the churches to the bars and city parks.

There are also discussions, seminars, exhibitions and over 250 productions.

A festival bus also shuttles visitors between events.

Tampere Jazz Happening is in November.
The Tampere Jazz Happening is the premier modern jazz event in Finland. The two-day festival includes internationally-renowned musicians, and often features other styles of music, such as punk, rock, and ethnic.

Tampere Pirkka Cycle Trek (43 and 128km) is in June.

33km run, starting from Valkeakoski, is in October

The International Folk Festival is a combination of traditional and contemporary folk dance and music that is held every year in late July and early August.

The event brings together performers from all over the world for evening jam sessions and dances. A conference is also held on the side-lines.

The main event is the grand fair at the Tampere Hall.

Tampere Short Film Festival is held in March.
