Description
Part of the former Tampa Bay Hotel, owned by railroad tycoon Henry Plant, was turned into a museum in 1933. It is a luxurious Victorian palace with distinctive Moorish features. The museum traces the history of the hotel and Plant's contribution to the development of Tampa and Florida and houses an exhibition on the Spanish-American war. The rest of the old hotel now houses the University of Tampa.
