The Late Classical former Hotel Magyar Király Szálloda, is the Damjanich Museum with an extensive archaeological department and an interesting art collection. Janos Damjanich (1804-49) was a leader of the Independence struggle and was executed following its defeat. Ferenc Verseghy (1757-1822) was a writer and linguist of the Enlightenment.
