Zignau ( Ringgenberg Castle ruins)

From Tavanasa the road to Disentis continues along the wooded slopes above the right bank of the Vorderrhein. Off the road to the left is Zignau, at the mouth of the wild Val Zavragia, and the ruins of Ringgenberg Castle. Then on a stretch of concrete road to a bridge over the Vorderrhein and past St Anne's chapel (1716, on right), on the spot where the "Upper" or "Gray" League of the people of the Grisons against the oppressions of the nobility was renewed in 1424.
