Sempach (lake & town) Attractions
Northwest of Lucerne lie three beautiful lakes. Road 2 leads to the south end of the attractive Sempacher See (507 m/1,663ft), on the east side of which is the pretty little town of Sempach (520 m/1,706ft; pop. 1,500), with a fine half-timbered town hall (1737; old coat-of-arms in council chamber). On the Kirchbühl north of the town stands St Martin's church (13th and 16th C.).
Sempach - Ornithological Museum
By Sempacher See, to the south of Sempach, the Swiss Bird-Watching Station (Schweizerische Vogelwarte), houses an ornithological museum.
