Susten road crosses the gorge of the Meienreuss on a high concrete bridge, from where there is a view of Titlis (3,239 m/10,627ft) ahead. At the Leggistein tunnel on the St Gotthard railroad the road takes a left-hand turn, beyond which one has a view of the Fleckistock (3,420 m/11,221ft) and Stücklistock (3,309 m/10,857ft). Soon after this it goes through a third tunnel and runs high up on the mountainside above the gorge of the Meienreuss, with a panorama of the valley. After a total of 5.5km/3mi the road comes to the group of houses and the church at Meien (1,300 m/4,265ft), beautifully situated at a point where the valley opens out.
