Habicht

A range branching northeastward from the Alpeiner Gruppe includes in its peaks the massive Habicht (3,277m/10,752ft), which attracts many climbers; it can be reached from Fulpmes and Neustift in the Stubaital or from Gschnitz in the Gschnitztal by way of the Innsbrucker Hütte (2,379m/7,773ft). A series of steep and magnificently formed limestone peaks continue the range, ending in the popular and easily climbed Serles group (Waldrastspitze, 2,719m/8,921ft), which marks the eastern extremity of the town of Innsbruck.
