Glattburg Castle Description
About 8km/5mi west of Gossau lies the district of Oberbüren. Its former castle, the Glattburg, which was later converted into the Benedictine monastery of St Gallusberg, is mentioned in a historical document from 788, making it the oldest castle site in the country.
