St Austell - Eden Project

The Eden Project has transformed a disused china-clay pit into an indoor rainforest, desert and other rare landscapes. The Humid Tropics Biome features rainforests of the Oceanic Islands, Malaysia, West Africa and tropical South America and displays how local and global people rely on the plants and crops from the tropics. The Outdoor Landscape brings the natural landscapes and crops of the temperate regions, which Cornwall and the rest of Britain share to varying degrees with parts of America, Russia and the Indian foothills. The Warm Temperate Biome characterizes the Mediterranean regions with hot dry summers and cool wet winters.
