The adjacent towns of Springerville and Eagar are located in Round Valley, in the foothills of the White Mountains and on the edge of Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest. Springerville is located just north of Eager near the New Mexico border in central Arizona. The town was founded as a trading post in 1879.
