Solta

Solta has long been used as a holiday destination. During Roman times, nobility from Salona, who called the island Soletta, used it as a holiday resort. Ruins of villas can be found throughout the island. The island is now an agricultural area and vacationing spot, with sandy coves found along the shoreline. Grapes, olives and figs are grown here. Solta has a reputation on the mainland for being a bit of a forlorn place and unconnected from the mainland.

Ferries which transport foot passengers and cars from Split, dock at Rogac and Necujam, on the north side of Solta.
